  • May Campout and Flag Service Prep – Important!

    Camp out for May is at Caprock Canyons State Park near Quitaque.
    This is a “fun and recreation” campout. Fishing, Biking, etc…
    (If you bring a bike, you must have a helmet)

    We need to know what adults are going to this. We have over 20 scouts signed up.

    We need some more help prepping for Memorial Day Flags. We need some scouts and adults to check flag locations this Saturday from 9:00AM to 10AM. Meet at church just before 9:00AM. We will go to subscribers homes and check the holes and repaint the markers on the sidewalks.

    Scouts need flag service hours to advance in rank.

    Troop has World Finest Candy Bar fundraising packs available.

    Each box has 50 bars at $1 each. Scout gets $.50 of each bar sold.

    Money and remaining product due on June 13th at Troop Meeting.

    Agenda: Plan June’s Troop ativities.

    7:00pm Troop Meeting
    Agenda: Scouts through Second Class is to work on rank advancement skills ( the boys need to review their handbooks to see what requirements they lack for the next rank, read the book and come prepared to work on those areas). 

    First Class and above will start Communications merit badge.

    Scouts and adults also  need to sign up for the May campout.

  • Flag Service Report

    David Jones, Gerri Chavez, and some Scouts checked all existing flags and poles. 
    Put labels on poles ( thanks Tane), resorted things in the closet, changed out worn flags, etc.  Some others checked and re-painted Routes 4 and 5.

    10 Scouts earns at from 1 to 2.5 hours of Flag serivce hours.

  • What’s Going On!

    Notes from Troop Meeting.

    Flag Service Project:

    Saturday May 7th 900 AM At St Stephens.
    Review, repair existing flags and poles for upcoming holidays when we put out flags.
    Drive to customer homes (neighborhood around church) to verify sidewalk markings and pole sleeves.
    Install new sleeves for new customers.
    1 to 2 hours.
    Flag service hours (required for T94 rank advancement)

    Coin collection MB:
    Chuck Freas finished teaching. Boys need to bring organized collection to show Chuck (50 coin minimum) then they will get merit badge.

    Coke sales:
    Need help for Mrs Chavez to sort orders.
    Thursday May 5th. 4 – 5 PM.
    Orders can be picked up after 5 PM  and by 6:00PM on Thursday May 5th at the Church.

    Nik Baucom Eagle project: Week 2
    Handicap ramp to meeting room building at fire department training facility. Amarillo College east campus.
    East edge of airport.
    Install joists and decking and handrails.
    Meet at church at 9 AM or go to work site. Start work at 9:30AM.
