  • April Campout Roundup

    April Campout at Camp Don Harrington a huge success!

    42 Scouts participated in at least part of last weekends camp. I counted around 31 tents pitched at the “Buzzard’s Roost” location at Camp Don.

    Friday night had the Temperature dropped to the lower 30’s. Everyone stayed warm though. And, fourtunately the wind died down. Temps went up quickly with the sun. Overall, the weather was great.

    Saturday kicked off with a chill in the air and the Patrols cooking their own food. For some newer scouts, this was a new experience. With the help of more experienced scouts, everyone made great meals.

  • Last Minute Camp Reminders

    You must have medical forms for everyone going to camp.

    If you have not filled out your medical forms, please do so before coming to the church.  We will have blank ones at the church to fill out before we leave if necessary. Just parts A and C.

    Don’t forget to pack a poncho and a pocket knife also.We are at the Buzzard’s Roost.  Click for Map. It’s the far south/west camp site on the east side of the lake.  It’s easiest to get there by taking the foot bridge down by the castle at cub world.

  • April Campout Essentials List

    See Camping Packing List for long list (you don’t need everything)

    Put your name or initials on everything.

    Mess kit. (Plastic or enameled bowl, spork, cup. Walmart or Academy Sports)
    Pocket Knife
    Sleeping bag
    Rain jacket or poncho
    Cot or mat
    Wear class A to travel
    Sports or hiking shoes
    Clear safety glasses (we have some for shooting sports, but you might want your own)
    Ear plugs (shooting sports)
    Work Gloves (axe yard, if you have a pair that fit your hands well.)
    Your Scout Book (so an adult can sign off that you completed a task).
    Medical form, Part A and C (if not previously turned in)

    (Give to Mark Benton while loading trailer before heading to camp.)
